The big lakefront
event of the year is at hand – for over a half-century now the Air and Water
Show has been drawing folks to the area surrounding the North Avenue
beach. Despite the sequestration’s
kibosh on the big boys in the fast jets, this year’s show promises to attract
over two million visitors to the lakefront.
I can hear propeller
planes running through their part of the show even as I write this.
The event is so
popular that even the geese are practicing their close formation drills.
